First Victim

I dont know where to start since there are a handful of issues i want to adress, but i will start with something that has been pissing me off for a long time.

Fucking Soulja Boy. I cant stand him. This is not a race war, i just think hes a fucking idiot. But first, Congradulations on making it big, kudos really. You have showed the world that anyone can make up a dance to a song with absolutely no premise and become a millionaire. The lyrics to your song make no sense, they are just shitty fucking lyrics. It boggles my mind that you were nominated for a grammy with your pathetic song you call 'rap' music.

I wont even get into his song called "Yah, Trick, Yah" with his poor, fumbling excuse for the english language. It's actually really funny, more embarassing for him though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orVf_i9fSxY. (also take note that he ran out of lyrics so he endlessly says "get out my face")

See, thats whats the problem. There is good rap, and there is bad rap. Good rap tells a story, it has a purpose. It talks about someomes life, or something soemone did that had meaning (key word here). Alot of times they are sad songs, like Tupac's Changes. Thats why he was so respected and left such a legacy. He had powerful lyrics and people had actually lived and could compare themselves with. I recognize that alot of rappers have come from a really shitty upbringing, and i give them alot of credit for telling people about it through music. I really enjoy hearing about other peoples pasts.

Bad rap is "Oh hot damn, this is my jam" stupid fucking lyrics that ANOYNE can make up. There is no depth, no intellegence went into making that music. And it dissapoints me when those songs make it big, becasue I think its a refelction of the people who are buying it.

When your music isnt helping anyone but you, thats a problem. When it's putting thousnads of dollars in your pocket that would be spent better somewhere else, thats an even bigger problem.

The music industry today only cares about making money, it couldn't give a shit about the content being written and produced. $ales, thats all they have in mind.

Maybe I care too much, but analyzing music is what I want to do one day.

So in conclusion, I would like to leave off with this, an exerpt from the bio section of Soulja Boy's myspace:

"Soulja Boy Tell’em is many things to many people. Apparently, prophetic is one of them."

lolz.

p.s. lets spend our money on music that is worth listening to. :-)
